Love Re-watching Battlestar Galactica

What movies or TV series have you watched more than 5 times?

Battlestar Galactica is one of those TV shows that never gets old for me. I have re-watched the entire series more than five times, and I still find something new and exciting every time. Here are some of the reasons why this show is so unique:

  • The show’s brilliant plot keeps me on the edge of my seat. The show follows the survivors of a human civilization that was wiped out by a race of robots called Cylons. The humans must find a new home while fighting off the Cylons, who are determined to finish them off. The show is full of twists and turns that keep me guessing and hooked.
  • I care about the show’s diverse and complex cast of characters. The show features a large ensemble of characters, each with their own personality, backstory, and development. Some of them are human, some are Cylon, and some are both. They must deal with moral dilemmas, personal conflicts, and emotional struggles. They also form bonds and relationships that make me root for them or cry for them.
  • The show has a rich and detailed world that fascinates me. The show creates a realistic and immersive universe that has its own history, culture, religion, and technology. The show explores various aspects of this universe, such as politics, warfare, spirituality, and humanity. The show also uses symbolism and references to mythology and history to add depth and meaning to the story. These references and the ending, which I will not spoil, blew my mind at the time!
  • The show has a fantastic soundtrack that enhances the mood and atmosphere of each scene. The music is composed by Bear McCreary and features various instruments and styles. Some of the songs include “All Along the Watchtower”, “Passacaglia”, “The Shape of Things to Come,” etc.

Another reason why I love re-watching Battlestar Galactica is the thrill and excitement that it gives me. The show is full of action and suspense, with battles, chases, escapes, and explosions. Every episode keeps me on the edge of my seat with its unpredictable and surprising plot twists. Moreover, the show challenges me to think and question everything I see and hear. It raises many moral and ethical dilemmas that make me wonder what I would do in the same situation. For instance, one of the show’s most shocking and unexpected scenes is when Boomer shoots Adama in the chest. This scene makes me question Boomer’s loyalty, identity, and free will. It also makes me question Adama’s leadership, trust, and fate. This scene perfectly shows how the show keeps me engaged and intrigued by its complex and compelling story.

In summary, Battlestar Galactica is a TV show that I love re-watching because of its excellent writing, compelling characters, immersive world, and stunning music. It is a show that offers me entertainment, inspiration, and reflection. If you have not seen it yet, I highly recommend you give it a try. You will not regret it.
